Volunteer Information
Due to the new state statute regarding volunteers in school settings, all parents or guardians who volunteer on any campus across the state of Florida will need to obtain clearance through the state's education background clearance system. This includes any volunteer opportunities as well as chaperone requirements.
The great news is that once you get clearance within the new system, you can volunteer on any campus in the state of Florida, and your fingerprints are good for 5 years. The school would simply need to look you up in their system to see that you are cleared.
Interested in Volunteering or Chaperoning? Follow the steps below:
1. Fill out the Volunteer Interest Survey found below if you think you may already be in the system. If you do not hear from us within two business days, you were not located in the system and will need to undergo a Level 2 Fingerprint Clearance using the steps below.
2. To do this, schedule an appointment with an approved Level 2 Background Clearance site. The following locations are close to the school and easy to use. The code you will need is VDOEPUBS3.
3. Complete your fingerprints at the time of appointment. Please bring your driver's license. Some places require two forms of ID. The cost of the fingerprints varies from $75 to $100.00.
4. Let Mrs. Walker know that you have completed the fingerprints so she can view them in the system. It usually takes up to 5 business days. Please email [email protected].
5. Once you have obtained clearance, you will receive an email letting you know the clearance status.
