Ethics in Education Policies Followed for all Employees
Berkley Accelerated Middle School will comply with Florida’s Ethics in Education Act.
Before Hiring- BAMS Completes the following on all employees:
1). 2 References must be checked. One of the two references must be the immediate past employer if applicable. Check the BEC (VERSA) secure portal for any certification alerts; • Check the PPS Disciplinary Action Search webpage (www.myfloridateacher.com) for any final orders for disciplinary action(s); and • Conduct employment reference checks.
2). Fingerprints and drug screening completed and cleared.
3). All employees must sign the acknowledgement of obtaining the Berkley Accelerated Middle School Employee Handbook.
This handbook includes information pertaining to the “Ethics in Education Act” and all self reporting requirements for employees.
Once Employed:
1. All new employees will completed the BAMS Staff Induction Program.
2. If needed for certification, first year teachers will complete the Beginning Teacher Program (PEC).
3. Administrators at BAMS are required to follow all “Ethics in Education Act” guidelines. This includes disclosure when asked
about practices of a past employee(s).
